Moustapha HAMDI was born in Syria. He was graduated from medical school of Damasco University. He did his training in general and plastic surgery in Brussels, Glasgow and Atlanta. He has worked as professor in Gent University for 10 years. Currently, he is head of department of plastic and recostructive surgery in free university of Brussels. Lecture: Septum-based Mammaplasty (M. Hamdi) - This lecture shows anatomical feature of the breast that can be used in order to improve surgical safety of breast reduction in large size breasts. A lateral or medial pedicle mammaplasty based on Wueringer's septum is illustrated. Advantanges of the techniques in term of aesthetic result as well as in nipple-areola complex (NAC) sensitivity are provided. An algorithm of surgical techniques of breast reduction is presented. In addition, an update of vertical scar mammaplasty will also be presented.

Lecture: Breast surgery in patients after Massive Weight Lossy ( M. Hamdi) - In this specific population, techniques in mammaplasty are modified to answer the challenge of bad skin quality, lack of volume and projection and major NAC ptosis. According to breast volume and degree of ptosis, several approaches of mastopexy are applied. Implant pexy/augmentation and autologous breast augmentation are demonstrated. |

| 15.45-16.30 |
Lecture: Pexy-augementation: one versus two procedures ( M. Hamdi) - The aim of this lecture is to give the participants a logical approach to this difficult procedure. Primary breast pexy-augmentation is mainly done in a single procedure, meanwhile, tertiary surgeries has different algorithm. Fat grafting is used as an additional tool.
|
| 16.30-17.15 |
Lecture: Major complications in breast reduction (M. Hamdi) - Complications in breast reduction are frequent, however, most of them related to breast asymmetry and bad scars. Approaches to with major complications of NAC are rarely published. NAC total necrosis or mal-position is extremely challenged situation for both surgeon and patients. A series of clinical examples will be discussed.
