COURSE AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The course will provide the individual way of management of a plastic surgeon for the patient requesting periorbital aesthetic surgery.
The aim of the day is to offer attendees a personal approach to aesthetic surgery of the upper and lower eyelids with particular emphasis on understanding the individual aging changes and selection of appropriate surgical steps and manoeuvers to address these issues.
At the conclusion of this course participants will be able to:
  • Interpret the aging mechanism and type for different patients
  • Understand the basic concepts in the selection of safe techniques for upper and lower eyelid surgery
  • Grasp the importance of performing a layered surgery for the upper and lower eyelids
  • Decipher the principles of a mid-face lift
  • Acknowledge the importance of lateral canthal surgery and the value of the anatomy and evaluation the medial canthus
  • Provide appropriate understanding and management of the complications when they occur
